The Situation
Our client is a company that provides asset management and inspection services for the oil and gas industry. Their in-field workers often travel to remote locations with no network coverage for long periods of time, exposing them to various safety risks. The company required a service that could monitor their workers' safety and location, and that could accommodate their existing satellite devices and interface.
The Solution
The NRC's employee safety monitoring solutions provide flexibility to integrate with different satellite systems and devices. As such, we were able to offer our client a service that included the following components:
- The Response Centre: a 24/7 manned centre that tracks and communicates with the workers, and that can escalate and coordinate emergency response if needed.
- The NRC TraXu App: a smartphone app that allows the workers to register their journeys, check in at regular intervals, and send SOS alerts.
- The incorporation of the client's existing satellite devices and interface as part of the contact and check-in process: the NRC can access and interact with our customer's own satellite SPOT devices, and their web interface, to receive location and status updates from the workers.
Where We Are Now
The NRC's employee safety monitoring solution continues to support the requirements of the client's business operations and employee safety.
Key benefits included the flexibility to integrate existing satellite devices required by some employees with new solutions such as the NRC's TraXu mobile App.
Additionally, the solution offers peace of mind and reliability: the NRC can ensure constant visibility and contact with the workers, even in areas with no network coverage, and can act quickly and effectively in case of an emergency.
