Keeping Employees Safe
- Drive in drive out (DIDO) journeys
- Asset patrols and checks
- Remote farm and land access
- Site or home visits
- After-hours on-call servicing
These are just some of the activities employees may be engaged in and having a robust system in place to monitor their well-being is an important duty of care consideration for any business.
NRC’s service offers just that with an approach that has evolved to support the varying needs of customers, and the often-challenging environments they work in. Our solution combines the use of our 24/7 Response Centre to call-in, TraXu mobile app, customer procured handheld devices such as inReach, SPOT, Blackline or other similar devices, as well as in-vehicle management systems. This flexibility ensures improved safety outcomes for field-based employees.
Peace of mind: Leaders can be assured that their teams are in good hands whenever they are travelling or working alone or remotely, with the NRC responding to missed check-ins and closures as they happen, 24/7. Knowing there is a response team ready to act is priceless peace of mind. For those businesses operating shifts and extended work hours, our solution can assist with fatigue management by minimising disruption to on-call escalations.
Journey Management
Driving is a high-risk activity and for employers, managing the risk with quality controls is a priority for ensuring the best safety outcomes for their travelling workforce.
The NRC’s employee safety service supports not only the planning of journeys but also the on-going monitoring throughout the trip. Registration of journeys can be managed by the driver via the NRC’s app TraXu or the Response Centre, and all data captured is accessible to clients' via the NRC’s Customer portal.
The journey activity captures the essential information of a journey management plan, as well as provides the option to define your own scored risk assessment drivers must complete prior to commencing their journey with the ability to auto notify leaders of high-risk scores.
Business specific sites and locations can be uploaded to accurately record trip plans. Other standard functionality available to our TraXu mobile app users are sharing of location, and geo-fence monitoring. Critical event notifications for weather, environment and other hazards are also available as an add on feature.
Throughout the journey, depending on business requirements, missed check-ins are monitored and actioned in real time by our 24/7 Response Centre without the need for notification workflow systems.
Lone and Remote Work
Working remotely and in isolation can increase the health and safety risks for employees as they navigate the challenges of both the environment and communication, each presenting a range of vulnerabilities employers need to manage. These exposures have ultimately driven the hybrid design of the NRC’s employee safety monitoring service, because we understand there is no one size fits all solution and the ability to incorporate both cellular network and satellite platforms into the service improves safety outcomes and provides reassurance for employees and employers alike.
We will devise a solution that considers the environments teams are working in, and where applicable, include the use of our TraXu mobile app and Response Centre solution with customer procured cellular and satellite devices maximising coverage and use of these platforms.
While the registration of activities remains consistent via the Response Centre or TraXu mobile app, throughout the day or activity, employees have the flexibility to check-in and communicate with our Response Centre using satellite or SMS. These notifications will be received and automatically complete the due check-in. The NRC will also use (where access is provided) customer satellite interfaces to communicate with in-field workers via satellite messaging. All working interchangeably throughout the activity.
The NRC has experience with a broad range of devices and systems and considers the flexibility of this approach to be a strength of our service, providing customers the advantage of a safety solution that addresses known safety risks.
Critical Event Monitoring
Has your business invested in safety tools for duress, man down, or vehicle critical events such as impact, rollover or fatigue micro-naps but struggled to work through how a triggered event on these issued devices will be monitored and escalated? This is a reality faced by many businesses for which the NRC offers a 24/7 solution for this problem.
The NRC provides 24/7 first response support for critical event management, working with businesses to design an effective initial business notification and emergency triage support with the driver upon receipt of a critical event notification. Our availability ensures someone is looking out and responding whenever field teams are on the ground working, giving you and your employees that peace of mind.
IVMS critical events and critical man-down
All critical events such as vehicle roll-overs, impacts, duress and fatigue triggered by a fleet’s in-vehicle management system or hand-held in-Reach, SPOT, Blackline or other customer procured devices are received and actioned by the NRC team 24/7. The NRC provide the initial business notification and emergency triage support with the driver or employee carrying the device.
